Today I received my official ADHD diagnosis. It feels very strange, after 42 years, to finally get a label that makes sense.
I’ve always shied away from being put in a box, but I think it’s because none of the boxes ever felt like they were a good fit. Today I’m Goldilocks – I’ve found one that’s just right!
Axis I: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) combined subtype (DSM-5 314.01).
Axis II: Anxious, self critical and perfectionistic personality traits.
I’m about to embark on a new drug regime, which I’m nervous and excited about in equal measure. (Okay, maybe more excited than nervous.)
